Marikiscrycrycry is the performance project of London-based choreographer and artist Malik Nashad Sharpe (b. 1992, New York). They make emotional choreographies that are less like descriptors of themes and more like worlds in themselves. Their work deals primarily with the social imprints and inflections left on the body, existentialism, the necessity to proliferate pro-Queer and pro-Black aesthetics under neoliberal hegemonies, choreography as an expanded formal proposition, and allostatic load. Originally making work in DIY contexts across New York City (primarily in Brooklyn), their choreography considers aesthetic production and situational politics as radical forms of production. They consider choreography as a tool to suggest ulterior and subversive critiques of an otherwise phobic and unaccommodating world.

They have shown their work widely across the world and in a variety of contexts, in festivals like Steakhouse Live at Rich Mix (UK), Tempting Failure at Theatre Utopia (UK), JOY&DISSENT! at Hackney Showroom (UK), in FlucT's MODEL HOME at Secret Project Robot Art Experiment (USA), the Festival for Alternative Theatre Expression at AKC Medika (HR), at PS We are all here at the Pia Bouman School Scotiabank Theatre (CA), at !BUZZCUT! at The Govan Institute, at Submerge Festival at Brooklyn Arts Centre (USA) in art galleries like Five Myles Gallery (USA), Transmission Gallery (UK), Shua Space (USA), in performance spaces like Panoply Performance Lab (USA), Otion Front Studio (USA), Bonnie Bird Theatre (UK), the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (UK), amongst many others. They have taught workshops and courses at the University of Illinois (USA), Gibney Dance Centre (USA), Disco Loco at Hackney Showroom (UK), and recently facilitated a Live Art Development Agency (UK) DIY workshop titled THE T R A P LAB.
